Would recommend for solo travelers particularly We had a lovely stay here. If I were a solo traveler this is definitely where I would stay; Layla has a very homey welcoming feel with plenty of opportunities to engage with others with in the common areas (a cafe and cute rooftop chill spaces.) Our upstairs room was comfortable and charmingly decorated, and the mosquito spray made available for guests was a most thoughtful touch. Attentive service and two beautiful cats completed the feeling of home; Layla's staff works hard to make you feel welcome.

Great Location Surrounded By Friendly Warm People Inexpensive, so don't expect the fancy Ritz Carlton. Do expect a fancy tree house. Surrounded by nature, quiet, comfort, and friendliness. Felt quite safe to be there. You can feel the cool breeze from the beach. The AC and free Wifi in the rooms are strong. The Wifi throughout the property is strong. Our room did have electrical issues that maintenance dealt with swiftly. The "pool" is quite small. Not for swimming, but great for cooling down. Close to the town center, beach entrance, supermarket, and tons of restaurants/bars. 30 mins south of Cancun Airport. 10 min cab ride to the old town across the highway, with more amazing food. All the cabs seem to know where Layla Guest House is.The cafe has an amazing vegan menu. I'm not a vegan, but I am now a fan of it. They serve great juices/smoothies, eggplant parmigiana, pizza, and empanadas. Oh those empanadas!!! If you are staying at the guest house, just make sure you get the 10% discount at the cafe. It wasn't till the end of the trip that we realized we were not getting the discount in the mornings.The owners Robin and Steve are so warm and welcoming. They were able to set us up for a couple tours. We had an amazing walking food tour in the old town with Chris. Our experience with Robin and Paz during the Cenote tour was a favorite. The owners also introduced us to the miracle massage therapist Marcos, who uses the Layla Spa room to work his magic.Thank you Layla! You make me want to come back to Puerto Morales!

Just wonderful! Just wonderful!! Such a Warm welcome and very helpful, a beautiful setting, so relaxing, amazing vegan food. Our room was so beautifully done out Perfect in every way ! Thanks so much to Steve and Robin, and your staff. Can’t wait to return again!

Layla Guesthouse What an amazing place, it's like a little piece of paradise in paradise. Nothing is very far away in this laid back beach community. There is usually some sort of entertainment in the square on Friday and Saturday also beaches, fishing and excellent food. Many of the restaurants offer gluten free options and the restaurant at Layla is gluten free and vegan. Loved our stay and we will definitely return.

Layla Guesthouse Beautiful boutique hotel. We stayed in one of the garden suites and it was wonderful. It felt secluded even though it's close to everything. None of the craziness of Cancun but still within 30 minutes of the airport. Puerto Morelas is laid back with plenty of things to do.

Awesome guesthouse with bohemian vibe. Great place to stay! Super casual environment. The entire staff was very attentive and checked on us several times during our stay.Provided recommendations for excursions like snorkeling and dinner options.Also, ate a couple meals and coffee at restaurant on first floor. Everything was delicious.Will definitely be back for a longer stay!

A very special place The owners of Layla Guesthouse in PM work very hard to ensure your stay at Layla is magical. There is no other place in PM like Layla with its hip, convivial and down to earth vibe, delicious food, smoothies and juices and a layout primed to catch the sea breeze and magnificent views. There is also an activity board which lists the (almost) nightly entertainment options--lectures, movies, live music and karaoke!! The mood is very relaxed and if you are a solo traveler as I was, you will feel safe and welcomed. I did have to change rooms after the first night however so if you are sensitive to mosquitos as I am,I would avoid the first floor garden rooms which are surrounded by lush vegetation and tend to be more humid. Big shout out to Jimena and Grace for making the change happen.

Not just a great guesthouse, but also a little cultural center! Layla's is like a little slice of Berkeley, CA (where I live in real life) transported to Puerto Morelos! Very bohemian/hip atmosphere, and also the friendliest, most considerate staff of any lodging I've ever stayed at. And the ONLY vacation place I've ever stayed where I saw other solo women hanging out -- there were a few of them working on their laptops in the cafe. I felt so safe and at home! I loved the multiple decks with hammock on one, plunge pool on the next, and picnic table/BBQ area on the top. All great for catching the breeze and staring blissfully at the ocean.Special thanks to Ximena, who jumped to make sure my every question was answered and every need fulfilled within minutes of asking, and who is just an overall delightful person. Oh, and the cafe food was really great -- I had the plantain pancakes! And the location -- perfect!

Delicious Vegetarian Food We stayed at Layla Guesthouse and found both the accommodations and the cafe to be fantastic! We had two different pizzas one night and a very yummy berry horchata! The staff is wonderfu! Thank you- we will hope to return soon.
